After the markets closed on November 2, 2021, Zillow announced it was shutting down its house flipping business, “Zillow Offers,” due to volatility concerns. The company also announced it plans to cut 25% of its workforce. According to a Wall Street Journal article, Zillow once said its house flipping venture could generate $20 billion annually.

On this news, shares of Zillow stock fell 10% in after-market trading on November 2nd, and over 15% during trading hours on November 3, 2021.
