Block & Leviton was appointed to the Steering Committee in this action, which is pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California before the Honorable Janis L. Sammartino.  The case alleges that manufacturers of packaged seafood products, such as canned tuna, conspired to fix, raise, and maintain prices for these goods from at least July 24, 2011 to the present. Tri-Union Seafoods LLC, which produces the Chicken of the Sea brand, has applied for amnesty through the Department of Justice Antitrust Division's Leniency Program.

On July 30, 2019, the Court certified the proposed class. However, on December 13, 2019, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals granted the defendants’ petition for permission to appeal that decision. Defendants’ appeal remains pending.
